Shots Taken
These were the final three pictures that I chose between to be the front cover image. In the end I chose the one on the right hand side because the lighting captured her face and made the gold jewelry stand out. I had my artist wear a white t-shirt for the shoot as it blended well with a white background and would make everything else such as the makeup and jewelry stand out. My artist is wearing makeup which is typically what females wear so this would appeal to my target audience which is 16-18 year olds and female. Females usually wear makeup and the clothing is very simple so it allowed all focus to direct to her face. She is giving angle of gaze to connect with the readers and make the readers feel as though she is looking at them and engaging with them. The middle image was too dark and I felt as though lighting played a big part in how good the image would come out. From the image being dark, her clothing is hard to see and so is her face, the makeup is not visible in the darker image and as the artist on the front cover was considered to be the thing that most attracts a reader to the magazine from the results i got from my questionnaire, my main focus was getting a good shot that allowed the readers to see the artist in the best light and I feel as though the right hand represented that best. The left hand one was similar to the right hand image but I feel as though she looked too serious in the image on the left for it to be on the front cover. The expression in her face is the same as what I drew for my flatplan. I originally wanted my artist to have straight hair but instead it's curly and it was easy to work with.
