Features On Front Cover

These were the features that were going to be on the front cover of my magazine. The first feature is an exclusive interview with Drake, the genre of the magazine is highlighted when it says 'Hip Hop King' it shows that the genre of music is Hip Hop and that Drake is associated with that genre. The second issue is Jhene Aiko dishing the dirt on her love life. This attracts a reader as they would want to know more about her love life. Jhene Aiko links in with this magazine as at the top of the masthead her name is there which shows how she will feature in this magazine. The third feature is the '50 greatest albums of all time'. This shows readers that they will be finding out the 50 greatest albums of the Hip Hop genre. Although it doesn't say Hip Hop within the feature, its evident that the albums will be linked with the genre because its a Hip Hop magazine. The final feature is the sell line saying 'The Queen of Hip-Hop finally taking her crown.

Since then I have changed the colour scheme and changed the wordings of the features. I have chosen the colour gold to have the artists names in so that their names stand out but don't overshadow the main artists name in burgundy. The colour gold was taken from the colour of her gold chain. I wanted my colour scheme to link into what my artist was wearing. Although my target audience chose the colour scheme red and blue, I have changed it to gold and burgundy as these are the colours associated with my artist and I think the colours stand out more than how the blue and red did. I've added another feature onto the magazine which is showing a sneak peak of the Grammys 2014. I wanted an issue that would excite my target audience and I wanted to showcase one of the main award shows around. The first initial idea for my Drake feature was saying 'Hip Hop King Interview' but I changed it as I already had the main artist with 'The Queen Of Hip Hop' and it would've seemed like Drake was as important as the main artist, so instead I changed it to news about his album as he's recently released a new one so it would be interesting to find out about. I kept most of the font black to keep it looking simplistic but I added colours to highlight people's names. I added more features as the feeback from my flatplans made me realise I needed to use up more space.
