Final Front Cover
This is my final front cover. I created this using Photoshop and included most things that a magazine would have. I have included a bar header, masthead, pull quote, graphics, bar code, price and sale lines. Looking back at the steps that I have taken to create this music magazine, I can see how I've made the right decision to change the colour scheme, price and adding more features.
Adding more features has helped my music magazine front cover stand out as the features are things that would interest my target audience. I prefer burgundy and gold colour scheme compared to the blue and red one that I originally was going to go with. Everything links in with my artist so it's easy to see where the colour scheme comes from.
I originally wanted to incorporate both Hip-Hop and Pop into the magazine to create a Hip-Pop magazine as it was unique and I hadn't seen any other magazines do this. I changed my idea to it being just a Hip-Hop magazine, I found it was easier to find other magazines which I could compare it to and it would've been harder trying to find a magazine that is both Hip- Hop and Pop.
I am pleased with how my front cover turned out. How the front cover looks is different to how I thought it would look from the start of making it but I think it looks better and the layout is easy to read for readers which was my most important task. I took inspiration from both Vibe and XXL magazine which I feel is shown in my music magazine. The layout of my music magazine is similar to some of the issues that Vibe or XXL have distributed.
